Full Day to Mystras-Sparta
Visit the Byzantine town of Mystras!
Once a week
We pick you up from your hotel and take you to starting point of the “Green Tour”. The tour begins at 09:00 and following a journey along the historicroad through the Taygetos Mountain we reach the Byzantine town of Mystras.
Mystras’ historical importance is tremendous. In the 14th century Mystrás became the seat of the Despotate of Moreas, whereas in 1448 the last emperor of Byzantium, Constantine XI Palaeologos, was crowned here.
From Mystras we visit the city of Sparta (6 km away) for free time and lunch (optional) in front of the statue of Ancient Leonidas.
To round off the tour we visit Museum of the Olive and Greek Olive Oil in Sparta dedicated to the 2500 years of oil production in the region.
